CHED Center of Excellence in Agricultural Engineering

Member of the  ERDT Consortium

“Because we want you to be counted and to know where you are”

This is the theme of the incoming 2015 Agricultural Engineering Alumni Grand Reunion and Homecoming on February 6, 2015 spearheaded by the Department of Agricultural Engineering.  The department traces its beginnings with the then Central Luzon Agricultural School (CLAS).

Headed by the dean, Dr. Ireneo C. Agulto, the CEn faculty members and graduate students  of the MS & PhD in Agricultural Engineering programs attended the 3rd ERDT Congress at the SMX Convention Center last July 25, 2014. This years congress theme focuses on "Science and Technology for Disaster Preparedness and Resliency".

The College of Engineering registered a passing percentage of 55.56%* or 10/18 in the recently concluded July 2014 board exam for the agricultural engineering profession. All ten (10) passers are first timers based on the released school performance report of the PRC. The passing percentage of the school is 5% higher than the national passing percentage as established by the Professional Regulation Commission.

On July 2008, representatives of the Commission of Higher Education (CHED) - Technical Panel for Agricultural Education visited the College of Engineering relative to the application of the department for the Center of Excellence of its BSAEn program. After their evaluation, the CHED officially recognized CLSU as Center of Excellence in Agricultural Engineering.
